CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Dallas College Eastfield was awarded the lone at-large bid to compete in the National Junior College Athletic Association Division III World Series at Falcoln Park in Auburn, New York.

The second-ranked and third-seeded Harvester Bees (46-13) will meet St. Cloud Technical and Community College (32-12) at 8:30 a.m. CT Saturday to open the eight-team national tournament. It is Eastfield's third straight trip to the World Series – the last two in which the Bees have finished as the runner-up.

Eastfield is coming off a loss in the NJCAA Division III South Central District championship round to Dallas College Richland. St. Cloud Tech beat Century College in the North Plains District title game to reach the World Series.

The Bees enter the tournament having scored the fourth most runs (553) in NJCAA Division III. They are sixth in batting average (.354). St. Cloud Tech is 17th in runs scored (403) and tied for 19th in batting  average (.330).

Eastfield's pitching staff is ninth in the country in earned run average (4.64) and fifth in strikeouts (430). The Cyclones are 34th in ERA (6.16) and 26th in strikeouts (297).

A win over St. Cloud Tech may set up a rematch with Richland in the second round of the World Series 3 p.m. CT Sunday.
