Harvester Bees Ranked No. 1 in NJCAA Preseason Poll
NJCAA DIII PRESEASON POLL
MESQUITE, Texas – Dallas College Eastfield's baseball team is ranked No. 1 in the National Junior College Athletic Association Division III preseason poll.
The Harvester Bees went 47-12-1 last season, finishing as the national runner-up.
Eastfield earned 100 points and three first place votes in the preseason poll. Last year's national champ, Herkimer College (N.Y.) is second with 99 points and five first place votes. Rowan College of South Jersey-Gloucester (N.J.) is third with 91 points and one first place vote. Niagra County Community College, with 88 points, and Caldwell Community College & Technical Institute (N.C.), with 74, round out the Top 5.
Dallas Athletic Conference members Dallas College Richland and Dallas College North Lake received votes in the national rankings.
Eastfield went 24-6 in the DAC last season to claim the league regular season title. The Bees went 3-1 to win the NJCAA Division III South Central District championship before advancing to the NJCAA DIII World Series in Greeneville, Tennessee, where they fell in the national championship game.
The Harvester Bees will open the season at Southwestern Assemblies of God University Monday. The home opener is set for Feb. 3 against Vernon College.
