Prokarym Named NJCAA DIII Pitcher of the Week

Dallas College Eastfield's Jacob Prokarym was named the National Junior College Athletic Association Division III Pitcher of the Week.

A 6-foot-6, 210-pound freshman left-handed pitcher from Plano, Texas, Prokarym tossed a complete game shutout in a victory over Dallas College Cedar Valley last week. In seven innings of work, he allowed two hits and two walks, and struck out five batters without giving up a run in seven innings.

It was his longest outing of the season. Prokarym improved to 4-1 with a 2.52 earned run average and 32 strikeouts in 25 innings.

Eastfield (19-7) will play at Dallas Christian in a doubleheader beginning at noon Monday. The Harvester Bees resume Dallas Athletic Conference play 12 p.m. Wednesday when they host Dallas College Brookhaven.
