Poole Picked as DAC Hitter of Week
IRVING, Texas – Dallas College Eastfield's Payton Poole was chosen as the Dallas Athletic Conference Hitter of the Week.
A sophomore first baseman from Benbrook, Texas, batted .545 with a walk-off home run, five runs batted in, four runs scored, four walks and a stolen base as Eastfield went 4-0 last week. His three-run homer in the bottom of the seventh inning of the final game of a three-game series with Des Moines Area Community College bounced off the top of the wall and over to complete the weekend sweep. Poole went 2-for-2 with a walk and an RBI, and scored three runs in a nonconference win over Dallas College Mountain View earlier in the week.
Poole is hitting .366 with two home runs, four doubles and 16 RBI this season.
Ranked No. 2 in the National Junior College Athletic Association Division III poll, Eastfield (12-1) will host Dallas-Fort Worth Post Grad 12 p.m. Wednesday before playing Galveston College (8-4) and Angelina College (2-10) on the road Friday and Saturday, respectively.
