Prokarym Selected DAC Pitcher of Week

IRVING, Texas – Dallas College Eastfield's Jacob Prokarym was selected as the Dallas Athletic Conference Pitcher of the Week.

A 6-foot-6 sophomore left hander from Plano, Texas, Prokarym struck out a career-high 10 batters, and gave up one earned run, three hits and two walks in seven innings of an 8-2 victory over Dallas College Cedar Valley Friday. The Suns batted .125 off him in the game. 

He improved to 3-0 with a 4.33 earned run average and 41 strikeouts in six starts this season. Prokarym ranks second among National Junior College Athletic Association Division III strikeout leaders this season.

Ranked No. 2 in the NJCAA Division III poll, Eastfield (19-6, 6-0 DAC) will host Joliet Junior College (5-4) in a doubleheader 1 p.m. Tuesday.
