Prokarym Named NJCAA DIII Pitcher of Week

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Dallas College Eastfield's Jacob Prokarym was selected as the National Junior College Athletic Association Division III Pitcher of the Week.  

A sophomore left hander from Plano, Texas, Prokarym allowed one earned run, three hits and two walks, while fanning a career-high 10 batters in seven innings as No. 2 Eastfield beat Dallas College Cedar Valley, 8-2, last week. The Suns hit .125 off him in that game. 

Prokarym improved to 3-0 with a 4.33 earned run average and 41 strikeouts in six starts. He ranks second in the country in strikeouts.

Eastfield (21-6) will host Dallas Christian College Prospect Team in a doubleheader noon Monday. The Bees resume Dallas Athletic Conference play noon Wednesday at No. 5 Dallas College Richland.
