Eastfield to Host District Tournament Thursday-Saturday

MESQUITE, Texas – Dallas College Eastfield's baseball team will host the National Junior College Athletic Association Division III South Central District Tournament Thursday-Saturday.
The Harvester Bees (44-11) won the Dallas Athletic Conference regular season title for the third straight year, and will receive a first round bye. The Bees will play the lowest remaining seed on Thursday after Wednesday's single-elimination round at Dallas College Brookhaven. Dallas College Richland (37-18) will also have a bye, and play the highest remaining seed Thursday.
The tournament follows a four-team single-elimination first day, followed by a double-elimination bracket over three days once the venue switches to Eastfield.
The Bees won the last two district championships, advancing to the NJCAA Division III World Series, finishing as back-to-back runner-up. Eastfield beat Richland in last year's district championship round.
Eastfield is ranked No. 2 in the NJCAA Division III final regular season poll. Richland is ranked No. 6. North Arkansas is receiving votes.
