BRACKET

AUBURN, N.Y. – Dallas College Eastfield beat Camp Community College, 10-2, in seven innings Monday in the National Junior College Athletic Association Division III World Series at Falcon Park.

The win sends the Harvester Bees (48-14) on to the consolation semifinals Tuesday for a 2:30 p.m. matchup against College of DuPage.

Eastfield raced out to a 6-0 lead after putting four runs on the board in the top of the second inning to grab control of the game. Josh Vaughn doubled to left to drive in a pair. Garret Hendricks followed with a two-run single to left in the four-run inning.

After the Bees added another on an error in the fourth, Camp scratched out a run in the fifth after stringing three straight hits together, and cashing in on Connor Simmons' RBI single. But Eastfield answered with a run in the sixth on Aubrey Whitehead's sacrifice fly and two more in the seventh on Vaughn's single to center and an error to make it a nine-run cushion.

Camp picked up another in the bottom of the seventh on Eliu McMoore's pinch-hit RBI single to right, but Harvesters reliever Ryan Dyer coaxed a pop foul to first base to end the game.

Vaughn went 4-for-5 with two doubles, three RBI and a stolen base. Hendricks was 2-for-4 with two RBI and two stolen bases. JJ Bush went 3-for-4 with a double. Jorge Herrera drove in two runs with a hit.

Eastfield pounded 15 hits.

Bees starter Marcus Peters (12-4) went five innings, allowing a run on six hits, no walks and three strikeouts to get the win. Dyer worked the final two innings, giving up a run, two hits and no walks in the hold.

The Harvester Bees' 15 hits were their most in the three games at the World Series.
