Garza Named ABCA NJCAA DIII Assistant Coach of Year

ABCA/Marines Assistant Coaches of the Year

GREENSBORO, N.C. – Former Dallas College Eastfield assistant baseball coach Ramon Garza was named the 2024 American Baseball Coaches Association/Marines National Junior College Athletic Association Division III Assistant Coach of the Year.

He will be honored at the ABCA convention Jan. 3 in Washington, D.C.

Garza, now the head coach at Dallas College Mountain View, helped guide the Harvester Bees to a 50-15 overall, 25-5 Dallas Athletic Conference record in his one year at Eastfield last season. The Harvesters advanced to the NJCAA Division III championship round after winning the DAC regular season title and finishing runner-up in the South Central District Tournament. He coached two NJCAA Division III Second Team All-Americans in pitcher Marcus Peters and first baseman Payton Poole.

Garza is one of 11 assistant coaches at all levels of college baseball and three divisions in high school selected for the award.
