
Harvester Bees Host Cedar Valley Tuesday in District Quarterfinals

Dallas College Eastfield's men's basketball team will host Dallas College Cedar Valley in the National Junior College Athletic Association Division III South Central District quarterfinals 6 p.m. Tuesday.
This will signal the fourth meeting between the two teams this season, with tenth-ranked Eastfield (20-7) having won the previous three. It also will be the third time the two teams will square off in Mesquite.
Tylan Harris leads the Harvester Bees in scoring at 16 points per game, while dishing out 4.8 assists and coming up with 3.3 steals per game. DQuarius Burton averages 14.3 points and 3.3 steals, while shooting 50.4 percent from the floor and 85.7 percent from the free throw line. Amari Williams is averaging 13 points, 3.9 assists and 1.7 steals.
Dwayne Reliford is averaging 11.8 points, a team-best 5.7 rebounds and two steals, and is shooting 55.6 percent from the field and 41.2 percent from beyond the three-point arc. Tyler Jones averages 10.7 points, three assists and 2.9 steals, while shooting 45.1 percent from the floor and 39.7 percent from long range. Torian Harris is averaging 10.3 points, 4.3 rebounds and 1.7 steals, and is shooting 50.5 percent from the field.
Eastfield beat Dallas College North Lake, 84-83, in last year's district title game, and finished fourth at the national tournament.
Tickets are $10 for a tournament pass for all games, $5 for adult single session of two games and $3 for students ages 6-18. Children under 6 are free. Dallas College students and employees with a current ID (must present at the gate) are free. Game programs are $2.
