Eastfield Men's Basketball Off to Exciting Start

MESQUITE, Texas — The high-octane Dallas College Eastfield men's basketball team is picking up where it left off.

The Harvester Bees notched three wins this weekend against an National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics university and two National Junior College Athletic Association Division I junior colleges. The Harvesters began their 2023-24 bid with a convincing preseason win against Southwestern Assemblies of God University at home. They followed with two more impressive wins against Eastern Oklahoma State and Bossier Parish from Louisiana at the Jerry Mullens Jamboree in Fort Worth.

With a new roster, head coach Dexter Young believes this team is poised to win it all.

"This team is skilled at every position," Young said. "We score, but we also attack on defense. We're deep. Ever player, one through 14, is ready to come in and contribute."

Led by NCJAA Division III All-American Dwayne Reliford and NCAA transfer Javen Hutton, the Harvester Bees showed fans and scouts alike what they are capable of. Young says they are just getting started.

Eastfield plays again on Oct. 22 at The GASO Jamboree at the Southwest Athletic Center in Carrollton, Texas, and at home against University of North Texas at Dallas on Oct. 24 at 4:30 p.m.
