
Williford Named DAC Player of Week
IRVING, Texas – Dallas College Eastfield's Joshua Williford has been named the Dallas Athletic Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Week.
A 6-foot-4 sophomore guard from Houston, Williford averaged 28 points, six rebounds, three assists and three steals, and had one blocked shot as the Harvester Bees won a pair of games. Williford shot 71.8 percent from the floor, going 23 of 32. He was 8-for-14 from the free throw line.
Williford scored 31 points on 14 of 18 shooting in a 141-92 victory over Creating Young Mnids Prep. It was the second straight game he scored over 30 points, having put up a season-high 34 against the same team before the holiday break. In a 120-92 win over Strength 'N Motion, he had 25 points on 9 of 14 shooting, and was 7-for-10 from the free throw line.
In 16 games this season, Williford is averaging 16 points and 5.1 rebounds, and shooting 66.7 percent from the floor, 41.7 percent from three-point range and 76.8 percent from the free throw line.
Eastfield (10-9) has won seven in a row. The Harvester Bees are scheduled to host Loyalty Prep 6 p.m. Tuesday before opening Dallas Athletic Conference play against Dallas College Mountain View at home 1 p.m. Saturday.
