Harvester Bees Slow Down Suns for Third Straight Win

MESQUITE, Texas – Dallas College Eastfield's men's basketball team beat Dallas College Cedar Valley, 92-78, Saturday.

It was the Harvester Bees' third straight win, bumping their record to 17-11 overall, 6-2 in the Dallas Athletic Conference. Cedar Valley fell to 8-16, 1-7 in the DAC.

Cedar Valley led, 51-44, at halftime, but the Harvester Bees outscored the Suns, 48-27, in the second half.

Eastfield shot 46 percent from the floor, hitting 37 of 80 field goals. The Bees sank all 11 free throws they attempted.

Five Harvester Bees scored in double figures. Omarion Durr had a season-high 16 points, 12 rebounds and two steals, and blocked two shots. He was 7 of 11 from the floor, and grabbed six offensive boards. Joshua Williford finished with 15 points on 7 of 12 shooting, seven rebounds and a steal. Dezmon Dudley had 14 points, going 6 of 12 from the floor, five boards, four assists and three steals. Javen Hutton finished with 12 points, eight assists and two steals. DQuarius Burton had 10 points, five rebounds and three steals.

The Bees recorded 20 steals, marking the first time in five games they've had 20 or more. Eastfield has had 20 or more steals in 19 games this season.

Eastfield, which is receiving votes in the National Junior College Athletic Association Division III rankings, will host No. 2 Dallas College North Lake (22-4, 8-0) on Sophomore Night 6 p.m. Wednesday. It is the final regular season home game of the year.
