NCAA Basketball Academy

MESQUITE, Texas – Dallas College Eastfield men's basketball coach Dexter Young has been selected to coach at the NCAA College Basketball Academy in Rock Island, South Carolina July 23-25.

It is the second straight year Young has been chosen for the event. Last year, he was one of 90 coaches selected. This year, he is one of 60.

"I'm honored to announce that I've been selected to coach at the 2024 NCAA College Basketball Academy in Rock Hill, S.C.," Young said.

The NCAA College Basketball Academies offer prospective men's and women's student-athletes an introduction to the college basketball experience. Under the guidance of National Association of Basketball Coaches and Women's Basketball Coaches Association coaches, the academies offer summer developmental opportunities through basketball competition and life skills.

Rising high school seniors and juniors and a few sophomores from around the country and a select number from overseas are among the individual pathway players participating in the academy. Junior college players were also selected to compete, as well as club teams for ninth and 10th grades.
