Bees Use Big 3-0 Win to Open up Conference

MESQUITE, Texas -- Dallas College Eastfield opened up Dallas Athletic Conference play with a Friday night win under the lights.

The Harvester Bees were able to get an early lead on Mountain View going into the half at 1-0. Hayley Torres had the first goal in the first half on a penalty kick.

In the second half, the Bees were able to find the back of the net twice. The second goal came 12 mins into the second half when Valentina Vera played a great ball to Mackensie Davis, who took a shot, and it deflected to Vanessa Ruiz, who kicked it in.

Hayley Torres played a ball on a dime to Sophie Palomino, a freshman who took it down the field and finished on a one-on-one scenario.

Eastfield (2-6, 1-0 DAC) will play at defending league and national champion Dallas College Brookhaven (2-2, 1-0) 6 p.m. Tuesday.
