
Hurst Named DAC Player of Week
IRVING, Texas – Dallas College Eastfield's Cora Hurst was named the Dallas Athletic Conference Women's Soccer Player of the Week.
A sophomore forward from Mesquite, Texas, Hurst had two goals and two assists in a 4-3 win over Western Texas College as the Harvester Bees went 1-1 last week. She scored the gamewinning goal in the 87th minute. It was her first gamewinning goal of the season.
Hurst scored Eastfield's first goal in the 26th minute to cut WTC's lead in half. After the Westerners bumped their lead back to two goals, Hurst assisted on goals by Bailey Beam and Mackensie Davis to tie the game in the second half. Hurst's unassisted goal with three minutes left gave the Bees the victory.
Hurst leads the Harvesters with four goals and four assists for 12 points this season.
Eastfield (1-4) will play at Southwestern Adventist University 6 p.m. Tuesday. The Bees open Dallas Athletic Conference action 7 p.m. Friday at home against Dallas College Mountain View.
