Harvester Bees Battle Suns to 2-2 Draw

MESQUITE, Texas – Dallas College Eastfield battled Dallas College Cedar Valley to a 2-2 draw Tuesday night in a Dallas Athletic Conference women's soccer matchup.

Eastfield (4-8-2, 2-4-2 DAC) scored the first two goals in the first half before Cedar Valley (6-3-2, 4-2-2) answered with two of its own in the second half.

Eastfield midfielder Aleksus Gonzalez netted the first goal 20 seconds into the game on an assist from Mackensie Davis. Gonzalez added an unassisted goal in the 17th minute to make it 2-0.

Gonzalez, who has scored in the past two games, has six goals this year. It was her first multi-goal game this season.

Cedar Valley's Lilianna Tapia scored an unassisted goal less than a minute into the second half as the Suns cut the deficit in half. In the 77th minute, Suns defender Brianna Barcenas tied the game with another unassisted goal.

Cedar Valley, which is receiving votes in the National Junior College Athletic Association Division III rankings, attempted 33 shots, 18 on goal. The Suns had 15 shots in the first half and 18 in the second.

Suns starting goalkeeper Olivia Reyna made three saves. Cedar Valley second half keeper Serena Aldana (3-2-1) stopped six shots.

Eastfield will host No. 2 Dallas College Brookhaven (7-2-3, 5-0-3) in the final home game this season at 7 p.m. Friday.
