
Davis Named DAC co-Offensive Player of Year, Bees Earn 7 Awards
DALLAS – Dallas College Eastfield women's soccer's Mackensie Davis was voted the Dallas Athletic Conference co-Offensive Player of the Year.
Davis and Cora Hurst earned First Team All-DAC honors. Harvester Bees teammates Kristyn Hernandez and Roselyn Rodriguez, Samantha Pena and Aleksus Gonzalez were Second Team All-DAC selections.
Davis, a sophomore forward from Rockwall, Texas, led the DAC in goals with 10, and had two assists for 22 points. She had three multi-goal games, including a hat trick in a win at Dallas College Mountain View. Davis scored twice against National Junior College Athletic Association Division I Monroe University and in the home win over Mountain View. She scored in three straight games in late August-early September, reaching the back of the net against NJCAA Division I opponents Cisco College and Western Texas College. Davis also scored in a 1-1 draw with Dallas College North Lake. She had two gamewinning goals.
A sophomore forward from Mesquite, Texas, Hurst led the conference in assists with 10, and scored six goals for 16 points. She had two assists in three games, including a 3-2 win over North Lake in the NJCAA Division III South District quarterfinals. Eastfield won all three matches Hurst had two assists. She also had two goals, including the game winner, in one of those games – the 4-3 victory over Western Texas College.
A freshman defender from Bryan, Texas, Hernandez helped the Bees post two shutouts – both in DAC contests. She also scored her first goal in the 3-2 NJCAA Division III South District quarterfinal win over North Lake.
A freshman defender from Mesquite, Rodriguez also played a key role in Eastfield's two clean sheets. She had four assists this season, picking up two in a win over Mountain View. Rodriguez also had an assist at three-time defending national and DAC champion Dallas College Brookhaven, while recording another in the road win at Mountain View.
A freshman midfielder from Mesquite, Pena scored two goals, including the game winner in the district quarterfinal victory over North Lake. She scored the Bees' goal at Brookhaven.
A freshman midfielder from Ennis, Texas, Gonzalez finished the season with six goals for 12 points. She scored both goals in a 2-2 draw with Dallas College Cedar Valley. Gonzalez scored in back-to-back games twice – the first two matches of the season and DAC contests at Dallas College Richland, along with the tie to Cedar Valley.
