Eastfield Pair Claims DAC Player of Week Honors

IRVING, Texas – Dallas College Eastfield freshman outside hitter Brenly Walker was named the Dallas Athletic Conference Offensive Player of the Week. Harvester Bees teammate Ava Cole was selected as the DAC Defensive Player of the Week.

Walker, a 5-foot-9 outside hitter from Lexington, Texas, hit .293 with 50 kills and 14 errors in 123 swings as the No. 9 nationally-ranked Harvester Bees (11-0) went 5-0 during the week with five straight sweeps. She added 47 digs and three block assists as Eastfield completed a perfect homestand. It is the second straight week Walker has won a league weekly honor. 

Cole, a 5-6 libero who hails from Royse City, Texas, averaged 12 digs per match, totaling 62 in the 14 sets, and committed only one reception error in 44 attempts, compiling a 2.16 serve reception rating. She also had three aces.

Eastfield, which plays at Southwestern Adventist University 6 p.m. Tuesday, has not dropped a set since the season-opening win over Arlington Baptist University in Terrell, Texas on Aug. 18.
