Davis, Cole Named DAC Players of Week

IRVING, Texas – Dallas College Eastfield freshman outside hitter Azoria Davis and freshman libero Ava Cole have been named the Dallas Athletic Conference Volleyball Players of the Week. Davis received the league's offensive player honor, while Cole collected her second straight DAC defensive award.

A 5-foot-9 native of League City, Texas, Davis hit .344 with 28 kills and seven errors in 61 attacks over nine sets as the National Junior College Athletic Association Division III No. 2-ranked Harvester Bees remained unbeaten with four straight sweeps. Davis had four blocks, three aces and 27 digs. Davis had half of her 28 kills over the four matches in a win over Seminole State College when she hit .314. She had seven kills, and hit .500 in the sweep of Rose State College.

Davis leads the Harvester Bees with 129 kills this season.

Cole, a 5-6 product of Royse City, Texas, had 53 digs in 12 sets for an average of 4.4 per set. She had 21 digs at Seminole State, marking the third time she's reached 20 in a match this as a Harvester Bee. Cole also had three aces and nine assists.

She leads Eastfield with 202 digs this year.

Eastfield (15-0) enters its last week of tournament play as it heads off to the Blinn College Classic for four matches Friday and Saturday.
