Cole & Davis Sweep DAC Awards Again

IRVING, Texas – Dallas College Eastfield libero Ava Cole and outside hitter Azoria Davis were selected as the Dallas Athletic Conference Volleyball Players of the Week. Cole earned the league's Defensive Player of the Week, while Davis was chosen as the DAC Offensive Player of the Week.

It is the second straight week the two players received the award, and the third week in a row Cole has been chosen for the league's top defensive honor.

A freshman from Royse City, Texas, Cole had 56 digs, 16 assists and six aces in 14 sets as the National Junior College Athletic Association Division III No. 2-ranked Harvester Bees went 4-0 last week, which included a sweep of No. 6 College of DuPage. Cole had 15 digs in each of the four-set bookend victories at the Blinn College Classic.

A freshman from League City, Texas, Davis hit .343 with 47 kills and 12 errors in 102 attacks over 13 sets. She finished with 45 digs, two blocks and one ace. Davis hit .400 against DuPage with 14 kills and 11 digs. She pounded a season-best 19 kills, and had 14 digs against Northwest Mississippi Community College.

The Harvester Bees (19-0) will host Dallas College North Lake (5-14) in the DAC opener 6 p.m. Monday.
