Banks, Cole Named DAC Players of Week

IRVING, Texas – Dallas College Eastfield's Carli Banks and Ava Cole were named the Dallas Athletic Conference Volleyball Players of the Week.

Banks, a freshman outside hitter from Sugar Land, Texas, collected the league's offensive honor, while Cole, a freshman libero from Royse City, Texas, earned the DAC defensive award for the fourth time this season.

Banks hit .413 with 23 kills in 46 attacks, and had four blocks as Eastfield picked up a pair of sweeps in the conference last week. She had 13 kills against Dallas College Richland, and put down 10 balls at Dallas College North Lake.

Cole finished with 28 digs, including 19 against North Lake, and had nine assists and no reception errors in the two matches.

Ranked No. 1 in the National Junior College Athletic Association Division III poll, Eastfield (25-0, 6-0 DAC) will host Dallas College Cedar Valley (0-12, 0-6) at 6 p.m. Monday.
