Bees Swarm All-DAC Volleyball Honors

DALLAS – Dallas College Eastfield volleyball player Brenly Walker was named co-Most Valuable Player of the Dallas Athletic Conference, while Azoria Davis was picked as the league's Newcomer of the Year and Taryn Doiron Setter of the Year. Ava Cole was given the DAC Libero of the Year, and Phil Nickel earned the league's Coach of the Year.

Walker, a freshman outside hitter from Lexington, Texas, has 258 kills, a .275 hitting percentage, 255 digs, 24 blocks and 39 aces entering Thursday's National Junior College Athletic Association Division III Tournament opener in which the No. 1-ranked Harvester Bees (31-0) meet Dutchess Community College at 1 p.m. CT in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

Davis, a freshman outside hitter from League City, Texas, has banged down 292 kills, while producing 34 blocks, 323 digs and 14 aces, while hitting .250.  Doiron, a freshman setter from Bridge City, Texas, has 632 assists, 236 digs and 46 aces. Cole, a freshman defensive specialist from Royse City, Texas, has 411 digs, which ranked fourth in the league, 29 aces and 98 assists.

Tasmine Maxwell joined the aforementioned Harvester Bees' quartet as First Team All-DAC selections. Maxwell, a sophomore middle blocker from Houston, has 169 kills and 53 blocks, while hitting .229.

Carli Banks earned second team honors, and Denee Cullum and McKenzie Anderson were honorable mention selections. Banks, a freshman outside hitter from Houston, has banged down 152 balls, while adding 28 blocks, and hitting .249. Cullum, a sophomore setter who hails from Corpus Christi, Texas, has 449 assists, 174 digs and 34 aces. She eclipsed 1,000 assists in her two-year Bees career. Anderson, a rookie middle blocker from Liberty, Texas,  

Nickel, in his second year as coach, guided the Harvesters to their first national tournament since falling to Owens Community College in the 2018 title match. His team won by sweep in 26 of the 31 matches to date.
