Volleyball to be Honored in National Championship Ceremony Feb. 24 at Richland
DALLAS – Dallas College will honor its three fall sports National Junior College Athletic Association Division III National Championship teams 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 24 at Dallas College Eastfield's men's basketball game at Dallas College Richland.
Dallas College Eastfield volleyball, Dallas College Brookhaven women's soccer and Richland men's soccer teams will all be honored for winning national championships in November. National championship t-shirts will be awarded to the teams. There teams will be honored at halftime of the men's basketball game.
Eastfield's volleyball team swept Century College, 25-19, 25-11, 25-22, to claim the national championship. It was the Harvester Bees' second national title in program history. Eastfield became the first NJCAA Division III volleyball team to go undefeated, and win a national championship. The Harvester Bees finished 35-0.
Brookhaven women's soccer team defeated Delta College, 1-0, to win its third consecutive national title and fifth overall. The Bears went 15-2-1 in the 2023 season. Brookhaven won its last 11 games, and went 7-0-0 at home.
Richland men's soccer team beat Mohawk Valley Community College, 4-0, to capture its sixth straight national championship and 12th overall. The Thunderducks finished the season with a 12-3-1 record.
