Eastfield Goes 2-0 to Open the Season

TERRELL, Texas -- Dallas College Eastfield's volleyball team competed in the Southwestern Christian College quad Friday.

The Harvesters Bees came away with two wins to open the season, beating a quality Arlington Baptist team, 21-25, 25-18, 25-19, 25-18. The Harvesters put together a strong team effort, and used solid performances from a number of players. Ava Cole had an outstanding match on defense, while Azoria Davis and Kendall Wilson both put up solid numbers on offense.

In the second match, the Harvester Bees made quick work of Wiley College, another four-year institution. After some back-and-forth play at the start of Set 1, the Bees pulled away to win the first set 25-15. They kept rolling from there, winning the next two sets 25-13 and 25-9. Every player got involved in the match, with everyone seeing some playing time to round out the day.

Eastfield will return to action with a scrimmage Saturday at the University of Texas at Dallas before continuing the regular season next weekend at the Wrangler/Ranger Roundup hosted by Cisco College and Ranger College. Eastfield plays Friday at noon and 2 p.m., and Saturday at 9 a.m. and 3 p.m.
