Walker, Cole Claim DAC Players of Week

IRVING, Texas – Dallas College Eastfield's Brenly Walker and Ava Cole have been named the Dallas Athletic Conference Volleyball Players of the Week.

Walker was named the league's Offensive Player of the Week, while Cole collected her second straight Defensive Player of the Week honor.

A sophomore outside hitter from Lexington, Texas, Walker had 41 kills, 39 digs, four blocks and five aces, and hit .274 at the Wrangler/Ranger Roundup as the National Junior College Athletic Association Division III top-ranked Harvester Bees went 4-0. She had a career-high 18 kills against Western Texas College, and averaged 3.7 kills per set at the tournament.

A sophomore libero from Royse City, Texas, Cole had 55 digs, five aces and eight assists as Eastfield went unbeaten against NJCAA Division I and II opponents, with three sweeps. She had a season-high 23 digs in the victory over Western Texas College, and averaged 4.23 digs per set in the four matches.

Eastfield (8-0) will host Temple College (5-2) at 6 p.m. Tuesday.
