No. 1 Eastfield Sweeps No. 8 Brookhaven
MESQUITE, Texas – Top-ranked Dallas College Eastfield swept No. 8 Dallas College Brookhaven, 25-14, 25-16, 25-20, to end the first half of the Dallas Athletic Conference volleyball season.
The Harvester Bees (23-1, 5-0 DAC) hit .262 in the match, posting .472 and .314 attack percentages in the first and second sets, respectively.
Eastfield's Azoria Davis had 13 kills, 12 digs and a block, and hit .296. McKenzie Anderson had 11 kills, three blocks, including a solo, and hit .562. It was seventh time Davis had 10 or more kills this season, and the ninth time Anderson reached that number. It was also the sixth time Anderson hit .500 or better in a match this year, and the second time in the last three matches.
Taryn Doiron had 37 assists, 14 digs and a block. Kendall Wilson had eight kills and three blocks, and hit .375. Carli Banks had seven kills, 12 digs and two blocks, and hit .312. Brenly Walker and a block.
Brookhaven (12-10, 3-2) finished with eight blocks. Eastfield had seven.
Lyrick Bridges had six kills and eight blocks, including two solos, and hit .429 for the Bears. Holland Hickman and Mary Amick each had five kills. Hickman hit .364, and Amick had two blocks. Fiona Larsen had 12 digs and an ace.
Eastfield hosts No. 13 Dallas College North Lake (13-12, 3-2) at 6 p.m. Thursday.
