Davis Named DAC Offensive Player of Week

IRVING, Texas – Dallas College Eastfield volleyball's Azoria Davis was named the Dallas Athletic Conference Offensive Player of the Week.

A 5-foot-9 sophomore outside hitter from League City, Texas, Davis hit .328 with 28 kills, and had 24 digs and three blocks as the National Junior College Athletic Association Division III No. 1-ranked Harvester Bees swept No.8 Dallas College Brookhaven and No. 13 Dallas College North Lake last week. She averaged 4.67 kills and four digs per set in the pair of 3-0 victories. She also did not commit a reception error in 35 serve receive attempts.

In the win over Brookhaven, Davis pounded a match-high 13 kills, hit .296, and had 12 digs and one block. In the win over North Lake, she banged down 15 kills, and had a .355 attack percentage, 12 digs and two blocks. Her 15 kills was a season high.

Davis has 184 kills, and is second on the team with 239 digs this year. She has five double-doubles in kills and digs.

Eastfield (24-1, 6-0 DAC) plays at Dallas College Richland (14-13, 4-2) at 6 p.m. Monday. The Harvesters play at Dallas College Mountain View (7-20, 1-5) at 6 p.m. Thursday.
