Bio

Anthony Fletcher serves as the assistant coach of volleyball operations at Dallas College Eastfield.

He assumed this role in 2022. 

Fletcher is responsible for recruiting and volleyball operations duties.

In 2023, Fletcher worked with a team that went went 35-0, winning the National Junior College Athletic Association Division III National Championship. The Harvester Bees became the first NJCAA Division III team to go unbeaten and win a national title. 

He also serves as Eastfield's athletic director -- a role he has held since 2005. Under his leadership, the Harvester Bees' volleyball team won the National Junior College Athletic Association Division III national championship in 2017. Eastfield was the national runner-up in 2018.

Fletcher also coached the men's basketball team for 17 years, guiding the the Harvesters to national prominence. Fletcher's teams were nationally ranked in the NJCAA Division III top 10 for 16 seasons. Fletcher is second in all-time wins for the basketball program at Eastfield with 370 victories. 

More than 127 of Fletcher's players moved on to play at the four-year university level. Fletcher's players received 133 college degrees. Fletcher coached an NBA player, three NBA G League players and 20 professional overseas players. Those players have competed in leagues located in Japan, China, Holland, Germany, the Philippines, Chile, Venezuela, the Czech Republic, Sri Lanka, Kuwait and other countries.

Fletcher coached 13 All-Americans, four conference most valuable players, four Freshman of the Year recipients, one Newcomer of the Year, three Academic All-Americans and a multitude of NCAA Division I, Division II and NAIA players.

Fletcher's junior college players received more than $2.5 million in scholarships to four-year universities.

Men's Basketball Tenure Highlights

2021-22

Eastfield men's basketball advanced to the NJCAA Final Four with an 81-67 win over Community College of Philadelphia and a 93-74 win over Community College of Rhode Island. The Harvesters fell in the national semifinals to Genesse Community College, 77-76, finishing with a 27-8 record.

2020-21

Eastfield completed a shortened season due to COVID-19. The Harvesters finished second in the Dallas Athletic Conference, and competed in the NJCAA South Central championship game for the fourth consecutive season.

2019-20

Eastfield advanced to the NJCAA Final Four with a 96-63 victory over St. Cloud. The Harvesters fell in the national semifinals to Mohawk Valley, finishing with a 27-7 record.

2017–18

Eastfield won the Metro Athletic Conference Championship for the third time in six years.

2016–17

Eastfield led the nation in scoring at 109 points per game.

2015–16

Eastfield finished fourth in the NJCAA national tournament. After losing the first round game, the Harvesters defeated Bunker Hill, 93-86, and Mohawk Valley, 96-90. Eastfield also won the MAC title and the NJCAA Division III Region V title for the third time in four years. The team led the nation in scoring at 101 points per game, and finished with a 26-8 record. Fletcher received the NJCAA District Three Coach of the Year award for the third time.

2013–14

Eastfield advanced to the NJCAA DIII Final Four with a victory over Anoka Ramsey College. The Harvesters fell in the national semifinals to Caldwell Community College, finishing with a 27-8 record. The team led the nation in scoring at 103.9 points per game. Fletcher received NJCAA District Three Coach of the Year award for the second straight season.

2012–13

Eastfield was the NJCAA Division III national runner-up, falling in the national championship game, 61-55. The Harvesters finished the season 29-5, and won the Region V Championship and MAC Championship. The Harvesters defeated Caldwell Tech, 101-98, in the national quarterfinal game and beat Mass Bay Community College, 91-65, in the Final Four to advance to the national title game. 

2009–10

Eastfield won the MAC Championship, and was the Region V runner-up. Fletcher was named MAC Co-Coach of the Year.

2008–09

Eastfield finished 21-11 overall, and was the Region V runner-up. The Harvesters climbed to as high as No. 3 in the national rankings that season.

2007–08

Eastfield finished 21-10 overall. The Harvester Bees were ranked No. 1 in the nation in November.

Prior to serving as the head coach at Eastfield, Fletcher had a two-year stint at McLennan Community College, where he helped guide the Highlanders back to national powerhouse status. In the 2003-04 season, McLennan boasted a record of 26-6 and a No. 18 national ranking.

During the 2004-05 season, the Highlanders went 23-8, and defeated the eventual national champions by 17 points on a neutral site. That year, McLennan was ranked No. 19 nationally. Players from that team went on to four-year universities, including the University of Cincinnati, Marshall University, Boise State University, Jacksonville University, Sam Houston State University and the University of Texas at San Antonio.

Fletcher was a graduate assistant coach from 1999–01 at his alma mater, Angelo State University, and he helped guide the team to the Lone Star Conference South Division Championship and an appearance in the NCAA Division II National Tournament in 2001.

Fletcher's teaching experience includes a year at Angelo State, 18 years at Eastfield and two years at McLennan. He played shooting guard at Angelo State.

Fletcher received a bachelor's degree in kinesiology, with a minor in English from Angelo State in 1999. He received his master's degree in kinesiology from Angelo State in 2002.

Fletcher is married to Courtney Fletcher, and the couple has three children, Madison, Chase and Callie.
